Topsy Turvy Chair Triple Version by Arsene Lupin (5880)

Wow – if you ever want to see a piece of craftsmanship then you have to take a closer look at these amazing attributes. This effect became very popular because Peter Pit performed it in his act – this however a version with an extra third chair that appears!

Effect:

You show a wooden chair (you can sit on it) and show an empty tube which fits exactly over it. You then point to an image / logo of a chair on the side of the box which shows a chair that is normal / upright. You lift the tube and tell them that you can easily turn the logo upside down by turning the tube upside down and place it back over the chair. Then you tell them that the chair inside the tube follows exactly what you do with the logo. And since this is now upside down, the chair will also be upside down (but you don’t show this yet). And that while there is not even enough space to turn the chair around in the tube. You tell them that you can also rotate the logo itself on the box and put the logo upright again, you now lift the tube again and the chair is (of course) back to normal – the audience will of course not believe this story and really understands that what you just said is impossible…

Then you place the tube over the chair again, and turn the logo upside down again – when you take the chair out of the tube, it is UPSIDE DOWN! You put the chair back inside the tube and you turn the logo back to the normal positiion. When you lift the tube the chair is upright again, you turn the logo again and now the chair is upside down again. You say that this is of course not possible because of too little space in the tube, the only way this is possible is by using two chairs. You take the chair out of the tube and place it on the stage. You reach into the tube again and take out a second chair on which you even can sit if you like.

Then you say again – “That it would work with two chairs – that makes sense but what that third chair has to do with it is a mystery to me”, you then lift the tube and here is a complete THIRD CHAIR!

The whole is beautifully made and you will receive it complete with the chairs, tube, instruction DVD and sturdy protective / transport covers. These chairs are no longer in production, due to the very time-consuming production process, these chairs are not cheap, but they are the very best available.
