Digimental Clock Perspex (5816)

A beautiful mental routine with beautiful attributes and multiple possibilities.

The basic idea is that you can force a 4 digit number in the most honest way you can think of. You show a deck of cards, the cards have a large number from 1 to 9 printed on each of them and all these cards are checked and shuffled by the spectators themselves. When this is done, introduce a stand with the letters A, B, C and D displayed on it.

The spectator himself is allowed to deal four piles of four cards which each will be placed behind one of the placed letters. He or she can then also choose 3 piles that will be eliminated (fully free choice – no magicians force). For example A, C and D. You remove all of these and in this case only stack B remains. You now place these 4 cards behind each of the numbers and when turned around these display a four digit number (which is determined by yourself in advance) which can be:

• The number 1425 or 14:25 pm – and if your audience check their watches it is the exact time at that moment.
• The birth year of another important year of a spectator.
• A code that belongs to a combination lock with which can open a chest.
• A spectator PIN.
• A number, say 1425 where 124 stands for page 142 and 5 for the fifth word on the first line of that page – and you predicted that word perfectly.

You see, plenty of options, your imagination sets the limit! You don’t have to switch cards or a deck, the whole thing is almost self-working and easy to perform.
