A great twist on the classic Run Rabbit Run!
Possible presentation:
You show a large castle and open both doors at the front and back to show everything empty.
You say that the owners of the castle want to sell it but no one wants it buy because it seems to be haunted. However, no one has ever seen a ghost (while you’re telling this, a ghost will come up from behind the castle and disappear again – without you seeing it, of course). The children will certainly let you know and you open the door where the children have seen the ghost, but there is nothing to be found there! You can of course repeat the same thing and the children will again shout that there is a ghost. Just before you open the door again, the ghost flies to the other side of the castle, after which you open the door and say “nothing to see here!” – the children are screaming because they saw the ghost go to the other side. “That seems impossible to me” you say while trying to open the front door on the other side, but just before you do this the ghost slides back to its original position and
when you open the door there is nothing to be seen there either.
Then the ghost rises again from behind the castle and now you see it too, you want to catch it but the ghost flies out of the castle but you are just fast enough to catch it and quickly put it back in the castle. Hilarity everywhere! “So, now the ghost is trapped.” You open the door on the right front and the ghost is gone again, oh no! So you enlist the help of the knights who normally guard the castle, one or two knights suddenly appear on top of the castle and the above repeats again the ghost whizzes from left to right and vice versa but of course you keep missing this, and this time the ghost also looks around the corner from behind the castle. Anyway, even the knights cannot help to catch the ghost and eventually you remove all the doors from the castle so that the children can see right through them and there is no longer a trace of a ghost. Then make the ghost appear anywhere you want (from your inside pocket, from a devil’s handkerchief, hanging on your back, etc).
As for the knights, you can use them or not (is not an obligation as are all other options). You can also talk about just one knight, he will sometimes pop up at the left, sometimes at the right for even more hilarity – or the knights also secretly look over the edge without you seeing this – even more hilarity!
The castle measures 51 x 20 x 6 cm and you will receive it complete with instructions. Of course you can make up your own story, the above is just an example.
