Impossible Chain Thru Bolt (1292)

This amazing solid through solid effect happens right under the spectator’s
nose!

A nut, a bolt and a small chain are the apparatus supplied. All can
be handled and examined by a spectator.

Effect : A nut, a bolt and a small chain are given to a spectator.
The nut and bolt have holes drilled through them for the chain to pass
through and through. The spectator threads the bolt through the nut with
the hole aligned with hole in bolt and then passes the chain through the
holes. He is asked to turn the bolt to move the nut. He is unable to do
this, as the chain going through the holes locks the nut on the bolt.

Now, the magician threads the bolt through the nut placing it on one
hole of the bolt. He passes the chain through the nut threaded on the bolt
in the same manner as the spectator did. Then the magician threads the
bolt through the nut, moving the nut to the other hole of the bolt. An
unbelievable illusion. Thereafter, he removes the chain from the nut and
bolt, and can hand over everything to a spectator for close inspection.
